A trap woven across time and a plan centuries in the making awaits the Doctor, Romana and K9 as they once again face the Conglomerate, with its mysterious head, Cuthbert. Time itself is under threat from the company’s business tactics and strange distortions in the Vortex are only the start of the Doctor’s troubles. Someone has been playing a long game, and it may already be too late to stop Cuthbert from embracing his destiny. But is he destined to run the universe… or destroy it?
“Life is too short to be dull. Be interesting. Because not very much else matters does it?”
The future is fighting the past! The Doctor, Romana and K9 are trapped in a temporal war on the planet Aoris, and with both sides now capable of time travel the conflict is entering its deadly final stages. With each minute another bit of history locks into place, leaving less and less room for the Doctor to manoeuvre. Can even he save the same planet twice at the same time?
Spies, DJs, modulated frequency wave cancellation signals: these are amongst the odder things awaiting the Doctor and Romana in 1960’s London. But perhaps the oddest is the cancellation signal’s inventor lying unconscious next to it… so what links the Professor, a catchy radio jingle and the British Secret service? Whatever it is, it’s connected to a risk far greater than they might have imagined, and a clandestine alien invasion. Can the Doctor defeat the Aliens? Can Romana survive a shopping trip? Can K-9 cope with his new job?
When a student disappears, the new Dean, one Dame Emily Shaw, wants to call the police in. But it’s not just her staff who would rather she didn’t, as her call is answered by the Doctor and Leela. Are the ghosts real or is there a millennia-old secret that’s even more terrifying hidden behind St Matlida’s walls and cloisters?
The Death Match is now under new management, with a mysterious new and unbeaten champion, and privacy assured to its rich patrons as they watch their champions fight to the death from the comfort of the orbiting Quarry Station. Prizes are offered for every kill in a purpose built environment bristling with deadly traps and hidden dangers. There is only one rule in the Death Match: kill or be killed!
