Her are the official Class social media channels:

Coal Hill School has been a part of the Doctor Who Universe since the very beginning, but that has come at a price. All the time traveling over the years has caused the very walls of space and time to become thin. There’s something pressing in on the other side, something waiting for its chance to kill everyone and everything, to bring us all into Shadow.

Fear is coming, tragedy is coming, war is coming. Prepare yourselves, Class is coming.

As Class is a young adult show and will not be suitable for younger viewers. (But fear not as the Christmas special is less than 100 days away and series 10 is coming next Easter).

Class will premiere on BBC Three this Autumn and Outpost Skaro have lined up a special YA to review it here and on our youtube channel (stay tuned!).

Glasgow Film and Comicon: Talking with wrestling legend Al Snow & Head

You’ve been a teacher as well as a wrestler, is that something you find more fulfilling or is it just different?

I’ve been a teacher for a lot of years now and I’ve always enjoyed it. I’ve always said that I think my legacy in wrestling is probably going to be more the people that I’ve trained.  And, you know, it means just as much to me as my own success when I see all of them succeeding.

Al Snow at Glasgow Film and Comicon

You did it with the WWE [on Tough Enough] and you’ve done it with TNA with the UK one [British Boot Camp] as well.

Yeah I’ve done it with the TNA, we had a developmental system that I created and turned out Jessy Godderz and Spud and some of the others. And then prior to WWE I had my own school for several years and now I’ve got another academy here, in London actually, that I’ve opened up and worked again in association with TNA.

Virtual Reality: The Future

Over the last two weeks we’ve looked at the past attempts of VR with Nintendo’s Virtual Boy and Sega VR and discussed the present VR offerings with Vive, Rift and PlayStation VR. But what does the future hold for VR? Will it change the way we play games forever? Will it go beyond that into changing our lives and the way we live in the future? Or will it be forgotten about and become nothing more than next year’s landfill. Come with me as we take a trip into the future. Unfortunately, I don’t have a big blue box to travel in so instead let’s take a ride on the speculation train!

Cosplay 101

With the rise in comic, film and Scifi conventions has come the rise in costume playing or cosplay for short. If you’ve been to a convention lately you will no doubt have been amazed at the range of cosplayers in attendance and may even be thinking of trying something yourself. Here with some hints and tips on the subject is our resident cosplay expert Mandy “Harley Quinn” Edgar.

I want to start by saying I am not the ‘Queen’ (Or King) of costuming or cosplay. I’m not far off the starting blocks to be completely honest, but the most important thing is – I love it!!  (more…)

Katy Manning to play Queen Victoria in The Secret of Springheel’d Jack!

Typical.  You wait years for a Doctor Who Companion to play Queen Victoria and two come along at once.  While Jenna Coleman is doing a grand job portraying the young Victoria for ITV it turns out the legendary Katy Manning (Jo Grant, Iris Wildthyme) is also taking on the role in the final episode of The Secret of Springheel’d Jack.

While we were already excited about the conclusion to this epic saga (now in it’s third season) we can hardly contain ourselves.  Katy’s no rookie when it comes to impressive audio performances, she’s the voice of  Iris Wildthyme for Big Finish, so we’re expecting her to knock our socks off!

Virtual Reality: The Present

So last week I talked about past attempts to bring VR gaming to the masses. Fair to say, they were more misses than masses. But that was over 20 years ago. VR is here and a lot has changed in that time. Your mobile phone is more powerful than the typical games console was then. With those changes in technology Virtual Reality is now a possibility.

Virtual reality

There are three main contenders for your Virtual Reality enjoyment in today’s market, all at various prices over £300. Yeah, I said it was here, didn’t say it was going to be cheap! However, you don’t need to cripple your credit card to take part. It’s possible to experience VR for under £20, but more about that later. Let’s look at the top contenders, how much they cost and what you’ll need to use them. (more…)
