American Horror Story: Freak Show Ep 13 – Curtain Call

Warning – contains spoilers for previous episodes!

And now, the end is near, the Freak Show calls its final curtain…

It seems like the worst of all possible worlds for the troupe, with Dandy having taken control of of the Cabinet of Curiosities, and he wastes no time making his present felt. With Elsa on her way to Hollywood, it seems like both their dreams are set to come true, but what will that mean for everyone else? With Dandy involved, will anyone even survive?

Arrow 3×10 – Left Behind

arrow1x10At the end of last episode, we saw Ollie go up against Ra’s al Ghul to keep Thea safe. As with the theme of sister show ‘The Flash’, Ollie learnt he wasn’t good enough to win and ended up being skewered and thrown off the mountain.

With half a season still to go, it was unlikely in the extreme that this was Ollie’s final call, and the question was more around how long he might be gone and what will be revealed as the method for his survival. (more…)

The Flash 1×10 – Revenge of the Rogues

coldIt’s been several weeks since we last saw the Flash, where he finally went up against Reverse Flash, only to realise he was far from good enough to beat him. For the first time since the lightning struck, he realised he was not the fastest man alive.

The repercussions of this continue to reverberate, with Barry’s training sessions stepping up a pace, culminating in being attacked by a missile-firing drone controlled by Cisco (who seems to enjoy these sessions far too much – is that just his geek personality, or is it a precursor of something to come?). (more…)

Lines are being drawn as untruths have been starting to unravel and there’s vengeance on the minds of several characters. As the group come together for the feast Elsa has put on to bid the carnival farewell as she prepares to leave for Hollywood, the tensions that have been growing look set to spill over – but who will be having their last supper?

American Horror Story: Freak Show Ep 11 – Magical Thinking

Warning – contains spoilers for previous episodes!

At the end of last episode Orphans things looked particularly bad for Jimmy, but fret not as the opening of Magical Thinking has him alive and with fingernails intact! That’s mainly because it’s two days before that cliffhanger though, and the form this year doesn’t mean things will end up predictably…

Case in point, as a travelling lizard salesman called Chester Creb becomes a very late-joining character and wants to join the carnival. He may also be a ventriloquist and magician, but with all that’s happened thus far then to gain integration – and to turn both Bette and Dot’s heads romantically while doing so – surely he’d have to be pretty much legendary?
